GREAT British Menu TV chef Dave Critchley, who started a delivery service during lockdown, has been awarded a That’ll Do Star by Plusnet to celebrate his accomplishments and determination as a lockdown entrepreneur.
When Chef Dave saw his Lu Ban restaurant in Liverpool close due to Covid-19 he found a way to act quickly, founding LIDS, Liverpool’s Independent Delivery Service.
He said: “When Covid19 hit it was evident that the impact across the hospitality sector would be huge. Suppliers were losing trade overnight, vulnerable customers were struggling to gain access to goods as the demand for supermarket delivery slots spiralled, and foodbank use spiked. In LIDS we’re trying to combat this.”
With his knowledge of the sector, Dave has brought together some of the biggest and best-loved traders in Liverpool. LIDS allows customers to buy from a range of retailers in one place and have items delivered to their door.
Nick Silverwood, head of Business at Plusnet said: “Those who launched lockdown businesses know all about courage, grit and determination and that’s why we’re recognising the many thousands of businesses that took the plunge in lockdown.”
